Does not include requirements for performance or functional characteristics of the equipment. This document applies to the above-mentioned electrical and electronic equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 600V. Note 1: Examples of equipment within the scope of this document are given in Appendix A. Note 2: It is considered that the rated voltage 600V includes the equipment rating 400/690V. This document also applies to: —— Components and assemblies intended to be installed in this equipment. If the complete equipment incorporating such components and assemblies complies with the requirements of this document, such components and assemblies do not need to comply with each of the requirements of this document. --- External power supply unit intended to supply power to other equipment within the scope of this document. --- Accessories intended to be used together with equipment within the scope of this document. - large equipment installed in restricted access areas. For equipment with large mechanical parts, additional requirements may be required. – equipment used in tropical regions. This document also applies to audio-visual, information technology and communication technology equipment intended to be installed in outdoor locations. The requirements for outdoor equipment, where relevant, also apply to outdoor enclosures installed directly outdoors to provide enclosures for audio-visual, information technology and communication technology equipment to be installed in outdoor locations. See Appendix Y for specific structural requirements. Each type of installation may have special requirements. In addition, this document does not contain protection requirements for outdoor equipment against direct lightning strikes. Note 3: See GB/T 21714.1 for information on this aspect. Unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, this document assumes a maximum altitude of 5000 m. IEC62368 3 gives additional requirements for devices that can provide DC power through common communication cables, such as USB or Ethernet (PoE). IEC62368 3 does not apply to: --- equipment powered by a proprietary connector; or --- equipment powered by a proprietary protocol. This document describes the safety protection for ordinary, trained and skilled personnel. Additional requirements may apply to devices that are clearly designed or intended to be used by or are particularly attractive to children. Note 4: In Australia, the work performed by trained personnel or skilled technicians may require a license duly issued by the regulatory authority. Note 5: In Germany, in many cases only personnel who meet specific legal requirements can be considered as trained personnel or skilled technicians. This document does not apply to: --- Equipment with non-self-contained dangerous moving parts, such as robotic equipment. and Note 6: See GB/T5226.1, GB5226.3, GB11291.1 and GB11291.2 for relevant standards of robot equipment in industrial environments.
