This standard specifies the method for the determination of the tensile stress-strain properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber. This standard applies to the determination of properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, stress at constant stress, elongation at constant stress, tensile stress at yield point, and elongation at yield point. The measurement of yield point tensile stress and strain is only applicable to certain thermoplastic rubbers and certain other compounds.
