- This standard applies to the protection classification of electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 72.5kV and protected by an enclosure. The purpose of this standard is as follows: a) Specify the enclosure protection level for the following contents of electrical equipment: --- 1) Protection against human body touching dangerous parts inside the enclosure; 2) Protection against solid foreign matter entering the equipment inside the enclosure;
