Scope
This standard applies to the types of appliances specified in 1.1 and 1.2, the main contacts of which are used for connection to circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. The starters and (or) contactors involved in this section are generally not used for breaking short-circuit currents. So proper short circuit protective devices form part of the equipment, but are not required for contactors or starters. This section applies to the following contactors and starters: contactors equipped with overload and (or) short-circuit protective devices; with separate short-circuit protective devices and (or) with separate short-circuit protective devices and their own overload protective devices Starter; After the contactor or starter is assembled with the short-circuit protective device according to the specified conditions, such as an integrated starter or a protective starter, it is regarded as an integral unit. In the integrated starter and protective starter, the circuit breaker or fuse combination as a short-circuit protection device should meet the requirements of GB 14048.2 and GB 14048.3 accordingly.
