Scope
This part specifies the following contents of the flow switch:--definition;--classification;--characteristics;--product information;--normal use, installation and transportation conditions;--structure and performance requirements;--rating performance verification test . This section applies to flow switches used to detect the flow rate of gases, liquids or granular solids. If the preset flow rate of the flow switch is exceeded, the switch changes its output state. These flow switches are self-contained, have semiconductor switching elements, and are intended to be connected to circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V ac, 50/60 Hz, or 300 V dc. Some additional measures necessary for use with explosive detection materials and/or flow switches located in explosive locations are not specified in this section. This section does not apply to equipment with analog outputs.
