Scope
This standard applies to the types of appliances specified in 1.1 and 1.2, the main contacts of which are used for connection to circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. Contactors and starters specified in this standard are generally not used for breaking short-circuit currents, so contactors and starters should be equipped with appropriate short-circuit protective devices as part of them, but they can also be separated (see 9.3.4). This section applies to the following contactors and starters: - contactors equipped with overload and (or) short-circuit protective devices; - equipped with separate short-circuit protective devices and (or) equipped with separate short-circuit protective devices and have their own The starter of the overload protective device; - the contactor or starter and the short-circuit protective device are assembled as a whole according to the specified conditions, such as the integrated starter (see 3.2.7) or the protective starter (see 3.2.8) . In the integrated starter and protective starter, the circuit breaker or fuse combination as the short-circuit protection device shall meet the requirements of GB 14048.2-2001 and GB 14048.3-2002 according to the specific circumstances. This Part does not apply to the following electrical appliances - DC starters; - star-delta starters, rotor rheostat starters and two-pole auto-coupling decompression starters for special purposes and for continuous operation in the starting position; - unbalanced Rotor rheostat starters, i.e. the phases have different resistance values; - starters not only for starting but also for speed regulation; - liquid starters and "liquid-vapor" starters; - semi-conductor contactors and starters using semiconductor contactors in the main circuit; - stator rheostat starters; - contactors and starters for special purposes; - auxiliary contacts of contactors and contacts of contactor relays, See GB 14048.5-2001 for relevant requirements
