This standard applies to inductive and capacitive proximity switches capable of detecting the presence or absence of metallic and/or non-metallic objects, ultrasonic proximity switches capable of detecting the presence or absence of objects reflecting sound, photoelectric proximity switches capable of detecting the presence or absence of objects Proximity switches and non-mechanical magnetic proximity switches that detect the presence or absence of magnetic objects. The above-mentioned proximity switches shall be fully enclosed and have semiconductor switching elements, which can be used to connect circuits with a rated voltage AC not exceeding 250V (50Hz or 60Hz), or DC not exceeding 300V. This section does not apply to proximity switches with analog output. This part is intended to explain the following contents of proximity switches: - definition; - classification; - characteristics; - product information; - normal use, installation and transport conditions; - structure and performance requirements; - rated characteristics Verification test.
