- Scope
- This document specifies the acceptance test method for verifying the performance of a coordinate measuring machine used to measure dimensions to determine whether it achieves the performance specified by the manufacturer. This document also specifies the re-inspection testing method for the user to periodically verify the performance of the coordinate measuring machine. This document applies only to any form of Cartesian coordinate measuring machine equipped with an image detection system operating in the discrete point detection mode. This document is not expressly applicable to: --- Coordinate measuring machines with non-Cartesian coordinate system. However, if the parties reach an agreement, this document can be applied to coordinate measuring machines with non-Cartesian coordinate systems. --- Coordinate measuring machines using other types of optical probes. However, if the parties reach an agreement, this document can be applied to coordinate measuring machines using other optical probes. --- Coordinate measuring machines using tactile probing systems (see ISO 10360 2 tactile probing systems).
