Scope: This document specifies the acceptance and re-inspection tests for the performance of articulated arm coordinate measuring machines. This document applies to articulated arm coordinate measuring machines using a touch probe and the optional optical distance sensor accessory (also known as a line laser scanner or line laser probe). Acceptance testing is the verification of manufacturer-specified performance by measuring a calibrated detection length. The re-inspection test enables the user to re-inspect the performance of the articulated arm coordinate measuring machine on a regular basis. Detailed information on the testing of scanner accessories is given in Appendix E. This document does not specify the frequency and cycle of testing, nor does it specify which party shall bear the testing costs. This document stipulates: ---The performance requirements of the articulated arm coordinate measuring machine are specified by the manufacturer or the user; ---The execution method of the acceptance test and re-inspection test used to prove the specified requirements; ---Conformity determination rules; - Application of acceptance testing and re-inspection testing.
