Scope
This standard specifies the method for the determination of sulfur dioxide in food. The first method, acid-base titration method, is suitable for the determination of sulfur dioxide in food; the second method, spectrophotometry, direct extraction method, is suitable for the determination of sulfur dioxide in white sugar and white sugar products, starch and starch products and raw and wet flour products, and ammonia-filled distillation extraction. The third method is suitable for the determination of sulfur dioxide in wine and brown sugar; the third method, ion chromatography, is suitable for the determination of sulfur dioxide in food.
