This part of GB 12476 specifies the general requirements for the selection and installation of electrical equipment, instruments and related equipment used in places where the presence of combustible dust may cause fire or explosion hazards, and to ensure their safe use. It is a requirement for basic electrical safety. supplement. The requirements of this standard apply only to electrical equipment under normal or near normal atmospheric conditions. This standard does not apply to pyrotechnic dusts which do not require oxygen to burn, nor does it apply to pyrophoric substances. This standard does not apply to electrical equipment used in underground coal mines, or surface components of these mining installations where methane and/or combustible dust may be hazardous. This section does not consider the dangers caused by the leakage of flammable or toxic gases in dust. The requirements specified in this standard are an essential supplement to the requirements for installations and equipment used in non-hazardous locations.
