This part of GB 12476 specifies the design and test requirements for intrinsically safe electrical equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres with dust clouds or dust layers, and associated equipment connected to intrinsically safe circuits in corresponding environments. This part of GB 12476 applies to electrical equipment whose circuits cannot cause explosions in the surrounding combustible dust environment. In other environments, associated equipment should be combined with the requirements of other types of protection listed in IEC 61241-0-2004.
