Scope
This standard specifies the classification and naming, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW) resins. This standard applies to PE-UHMW resins with a viscosity average molecular weight of more than 1 million. This standard applies to all powdery PE-UHMW homopolymers or other copolymers with a mass fraction of 1-olefin monomers less than 50% and non-olefin monomers with functional groups not greater than 3% and containing no more than 0.3% additives of polymers. This standard does not apply to PE-UHMW materials modified by colorants, fillers, masterbatches, etc.
