Scope
This part of GB/T 21461 specifies the methods for sample preparation and performance determination of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW) molding and extrusion materials. This part also specifies the requirements for the pretreatment of the test material and the condition adjustment of the sample before the test. This section gives the methods and conditions for sample preparation and performance testing. This section lists the suitable and necessary properties and test methods for characterizing PE-UHMW molding and extrusion materials. These properties are selected from the general test methods specified in the GB/T 19467.1-2004 standard. This part specifies other test methods widely used or of special significance for PE-UHMW molding and extrusion materials, as well as the determination methods for the properties named in Part 1. In order to obtain reproducible and comparable test results, the specimen preparation and conditioning methods specified in this section, as well as the specified specimen dimensions and test procedures, should be used. Test data obtained with specimens prepared in different steps or with specimens of different dimensions may not be consistent.
