Scope
This standard specifies the additional safety rules that should be observed in the manufacture and installation of explosion-proof elevators used in Zones 1 and 2 of explosive gas atmospheres and Zones 21 and 22 of combustible dust environments defined in GB 25285.1-2010. This standard applies to the design, manufacture, installation, inspection and maintenance of electrically driven traction-type, compulsory-type explosion-proof elevators and hydraulic explosion-proof elevators with a rated speed not greater than 1 m/s. In addition to meeting the requirements of this standard, special requirements should be considered for explosion-proof elevators used under special circumstances (such as: severe weather conditions and earthquake conditions, etc.). This standard does not apply to: a) the manufacture and installation of explosion-proof elevators used in zone 0 of explosive gas atmospheres and zone 20 of combustible dust environments defined in GB 25285.1-2010; Elevators used in dangerous places where explosions are caused by oxidant reactions, or explosions are caused by other hazardous reactions, and non-atmospheric conditions; c) explosion-proof elevators manufactured and installed before the implementation of this standard.
