Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for personnel training, personal protective equipment, material selection, and emergency operating procedures for hydrogen sulfide in the operation of hydrogen sulfide-containing oil and gas production and natural gas processing equipment. This standard applies to oil and gas production and natural gas processing unit operations containing hydrogen sulfide. Due to the presence of hydrogen sulfide combustion during operations, this standard is also applicable to operating environments where hydrogen sulfide combustion produces sulfur dioxide.
