GB/T 3681-2011 Plastics. Methods of exposure to direct weathering,to weathering using glass-filtered daylight, and to intensified weathering by daylight using Fresnel mirrors (English Version)
This standard specifies the test methods for exposing plastics to solar radiation, including natural sunlight and climate exposure (method A), indirect exposure through glass filtering to change the spectral distribution to simulate the aging of plastics behind building or automotive window glass (method B) , or using a Fresnel microscope to accelerate the light weathering (method C), the purpose is to evaluate the performance changes of plastics after these specified exposure periods. This standard specifies the general requirements for the apparatus and methods of operation used in the above tests. Although this standard does not include direct aging using black box test equipment, attention should be paid to the exposure test method at the final service temperature of the simulated material. Method C, which is used to enhance solar radiation, can provide moisture in the form of water spray, but methods B and C do not consider climatic factors such as wind and rain. When comparing exposure results obtained by Method C with those obtained by Methods A and B, differences in specimen temperature, UV radiation levels, and moisture condensation should be considered. In addition, when comparing exposure results from Method C to Method B, the glass or other transparent material used as the filter should preferably be the same. The exposure experiments corresponding to the exposure results to be compared with each other should have relatively consistent UV radiation levels. This standard also specifies the method for measuring radiation dose. These methods are applicable to various plastic materials and products as well as parts of products.
