Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of vinyl acetate in food simulants. This standard applies to the determination of vinyl acetate in water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution, 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution and olive oil four food simulants. The lower limit of determination of vinyl acetate in three water-based food simulants of water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution and 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution is 2.4 mg/L; the lower limit of determination of vinyl acetate in olive oil 2.4 mg/kg.
