This standard specifies the method for the determination of terephthalic acid in food simulants by high performance liquid chromatography. This standard applies to the determination of terephthalic acid in water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution, 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution and other water-based food simulants and olive oil. The lower limit of determination of terephthalic acid in water-based food simulant is 0.2 mg/L, and the lower limit of determination of terephthalic acid in olive oil is 0.2 mg/kg.
