Scope: This standard specifies the conditions for axial constant-amplitude force-controlled fatigue tests on metallic material specimens (without introducing stress concentration) at room temperature. Provides the relationship between applied stress and cycles to failure for a given material at different stress ratios. This standard applies to axial force controlled fatigue tests of circular and rectangular cross-sections, and does not include testing of product components and other special-shaped specimens.
