This standard specifies the normal working and installation conditions, structural and performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules, etc. of marine low-voltage contactors and AC motor starters (hereinafter referred to as contactors and starters). This standard is applicable to ship low-voltage contactors and AC motor starters in non-explosive and hazardous gas environments with an AC voltage of 1000V or a DC voltage of 1500V and below in the main circuit. This standard does not apply to the following contactors and starters: a) Star-delta starters, rotor rheostat starters and self-catastrophic pressure reduction starters for special purposes and continuous operation at the starting position; b) Unbalanced rotor starters Resistive starters, that is, the resistance values of each phase are different; c) starters used not only for starting but also for speed regulation; d) liquid starters and "liquid-gas" starters; e) semiconductor contactors and main Starters using semiconductor contactors in the circuit; f) Stator rheostat starters; g) Special purpose contactors and starters; h) Auxiliary contacts of contactors and contacts of contactor relays.
