Scope
This standard specifies the basic requirements for three-phase asynchronous motor protectors used in circuits with AC 50Hz or 60Hz main circuit and voltage up to 1000V, including characteristics, performance requirements, test methods, etc. The protector is used in conjunction with the contactor in the AC motor circuit and must have the function of protecting the motor from overload and phase failure. The protector can protect the motor from underload, stalled rotor, obstruction, three-phase current imbalance, excessive temperature, residual current, phase sequence, overvoltage, undervoltage, underpower, starting timeout and other faults. The protector can have the control functions of direct starting, reversible (two-way) control, various pressure reduction starting and two-speed control of the motor. The protector can have the control function of motor restart (or self-start) after under-voltage (loss of voltage). The protector can also communicate directly or through an applicable communication adapter to complete the transmission of various data and remote monitoring.
