Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for an interface system between single or multiple controllers and control loop devices or switching elements. This interface system uses two pairs of twisted shielded wires within the same cable - one pair provides the differential communication medium and the other pair provides power to the equipment. The purpose of this part is to formulate a technical requirement that enables devices with this interface to interoperate. This part specifies the following specific requirements for DeviceNet: - interface requirements between the controller and switching elements; - normal operating conditions of the equipment; - structure and performance requirements; - certification test requirements. These specific requirements are added to GB/T 18858.1.
