Scope: This part of GB/T 17215 deals with the type tests of electrical energy metering equipment for indoor and outdoor use, and applies to newly manufactured equipment for measuring electrical energy in a 50Hz or 60Hz network with a voltage not exceeding 600V. This standard applies to electromechanical or static instruments for indoor and outdoor use, consisting of a measuring element and a counter enclosed in the same case. It also applies to operating indicators and test outputs. If the meter has a measuring element used to measure more than one type of electric energy (composite electric energy meter), or when other functional elements (such as maximum demand indicator, electronic tariff meter, time switch, ripple control receiver, data communication interface, etc.) are also enclosed in the instrument case, the standards related to these components shall also apply. This section does not apply to: a) portable instruments; b) data interfaces of instrument counters; c) standard meters. For rack-mounted instruments, this section does not involve their mechanical properties.
