Scope

This part of JB/T 12530 specifies the general requirements for non-destructive testing methods such as visual inspection, radiographic inspection and ultrasonic inspection of plastic welds. This section applies to plastics made of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and modified polytetrafluoroethylene. Non-destructive testing of welded joints made of thermoplastic pipes or plates such as PTFE using hot air welding, extrusion welding, hot melt welding and electrofusion welding processes.
