Scope

This part of JB/T 12530 specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, parameter settings, testing procedures and testing reports for ultrasonic testing methods for plastic welds. This section applies to plastics made of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and modified polytetrafluoroethylene. A-type pulse reflection ultrasonic testing of welded joints made of thermoplastic pipes or plates such as PTFE using hot air welding, extrusion welding, hot melt welding and electrofusion welding processes.
