This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, testing, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of vapor compression cycle evaporative cooling chiller (heat pump) units (hereinafter referred to as units). This standard is applicable to motor-driven centralized air-conditioning or process chilled water (heat pump) units with vapor compression cycles using evaporative condensers. It is not applicable to spray-type air-cooled chilled water (heat pump) units. This standard does not apply to drinking water and beverage units.
