Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for rotating shaft lip seals (hereinafter referred to as "oil seals") for steering gear input shafts. This standard is mainly applicable to the input shaft oil seal of hydraulic power steering gear. It can also be applied to the input shaft oil seal of mechanical steering gear and electronically controlled hydraulic power steering gear.
