This standard specifies the test method for indentation hardness (Shore hardness) of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber using the following scales: ——Scale A, applicable to the general hardness range, and the durometer using scale A is called Shore A durometer; —— D scale, suitable for high hardness range, the durometer using D scale is called Shore D-type durometer; —— AO scale, suitable for low hardness rubber and sponge, the durometer using AO scale is called Shore AO durometer; ——AM scale, suitable for thin samples in the ordinary hardness range, the hardness tester using the AM scale is called the Shore AM hardness tester.
