Scope
This part of GB/T 18494 specifies the technical requirements, design and testing of power transformers and reactors assembled in semiconductor converter equipment. This part does not apply to conventional AC distribution transformers. This standard applies to power converters of any capacity. Typical applications are: thyristor rectifiers for electrolysis, diode rectifiers for electrolysis, thyristor rectifiers for high-power drives, thyristor rectifiers for scrap furnaces and diode rectifiers for variable speed drives. This section also applies to step-down regulators or autotransformer voltage regulating unit. The maximum voltage of the equipment on the valve side winding shall not exceed 40.5 kV. This section does not apply to transformers for HVDC transmission. Although the complete set of converter equipment standards (such as GB/T 3859 or other standards related to special applications) may include various performance assurance and test requirements for the entire equipment including converter transformers, auxiliary transformers and reactors (such as Insulation, loss), but this part still applies to the performance guarantee and test requirements of the transformer itself as a converter device. Guaranteed values, operation and type tests specified in this standard apply both to transformers used as a component in converter equipment and to transformers ordered separately for converter equipment. Any supplementary guaranteed value or special verification shall be specified in the transformer order contract. The converter transformers involved in this section can be either liquid-immersed or dry-type. In addition to meeting the provisions of this part, for liquid-immersed transformers, it should also comply with GB 1094 series standards; for dry-type transformers, it should also comply with GB 1094.11. This section applies to transformers with one or more bodies [such as voltage regulating (auto) transformers and one (or two) rectifying transformers] in the same oil tank. Also applies to transformers with one (or more) saturable reactors and (or) phase-to-phase transformers. For other combinations not listed above, the determination and measurement of the total loss shall be agreed between the supplier and the purchaser. This section applies to Y-junction, D-junction and other phase-shifted transformers (such as Z-junction, extended delta connection, polygonal connection, etc.).
