- Scope
- This standard specifies the technical requirements, design and testing of power transformers and reactors assembled in semiconductor converter equipment. This standard does not apply to general AC distribution transformers. This standard is only applicable to power converters used in local areas, and its rated converter voltage level is a medium value, but the capacity rating is not limited. Generally speaking, it is for industrial use, and the typical maximum voltage of the equipment does not exceed 40.5kV. This standard does not apply to transformers for HVDC transmission, because they are high-voltage transformers, and a DC voltage test is also required. Although the complete set of converter equipment standards (such as GB/T3859 or its standards for special applications) may include various performance assurance and test requirements for the entire equipment including converter transformers, auxiliary transformers and reactors (such as insulation , loss), but this standard still applies to the performance guarantee and test requirements of the transformer itself in the converter equipment. The performance assurance, operation and type tests stipulated in this standard are applicable not only to the transformer as a component in the complete conversion equipment, but also to the transformer ordered separately for the conversion equipment. Any supplementary performance guarantee or special verification shall be specified in the transformer order contract. The converter transformers involved in this standard can be either oil-immersed or dry-type. In addition to meeting the requirements of this standard, they must also comply with GB 1094 for oil-immersed transformers; and GB 6450 for dry-type transformers. This standard only deals with converter transformers with one body and one phase-to-phase transformer. For the case where several bodies are installed in the same oil tank, the determination and measurement of the total loss shall be negotiated between the user and the manufacturer. This standard only involves transformers with star connection (Y connection) and delta connection (D connection). For other connections, the user must negotiate with the manufacturer.
