This part of GB/T 11446 specifies the test method for the determination of trace metals copper, zinc, nickel, iron, lead, sodium and potassium in electronic grade water by flameless (or flame) atomic absorption spectrophotometer. It can also be measured using other instruments with comparable sensitivity, such as inductively coupled plasma/mass spectrometer (or inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer). Flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry is suitable for the determination of trace metals in EW-I~EW-III electronic grade water. The detection limit (mass fraction) of the method should be below 1×10-9. Flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry is suitable for the determination of trace metals in EW-IV electronic grade water.
