Scope
This standard specifies the safety technical requirements and measures for the design, manufacture and use of hydraulic presses for metal cold working. This standard applies to hydraulic presses for cold working of metals and hydraulic presses for processing other sheet materials (such as cardboard, plastics, rubber and leather) and metal powders, as well as auxiliary devices connected to hydraulic presses. This standard does not apply to machines for the following purposes: a) Shearing of sheet metal, such as plate shears; b) Fastening, connection, such as riveting; c) Bending or bending, such as pipe benders, bending machines; d) Straightening or correction, such as manual straightening hydraulic presses; e) mobile or rotary head punching, such as rotary head presses, mobile head presses or mobile presses; f) extrusion, such as horizontal profile extrusion g) forging hammers, free forging presses; h) specific metal powder forming, such as ultra-high pressure isostatic hydraulic presses; i) machines designed only for punching, such as punching machines in the structural parts industry.
