Scope

This part of GB/T 13288 specifies the visual and touch evaluation methods for surface roughness grades. The surface roughness of steel produced by any abrasive blast cleaning specified in ISO 8504-2 can be evaluated according to the provisions of this part. This method uses ISO surface roughness comparison samples to evaluate the surface roughness of steel after abrasive blast cleaning before coating on site. This method is applicable to steel surfaces that have been blast-cleaned by shot or grit abrasives, and the blast-cleaned appearance grade of the entire surface to be tested is Sa2½ and Sa3 in ISO 8501-1. This method is suitable for surfaces cleaned by metallic or non-metallic abrasives.
