- WARNING—Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This standard does not address all possible safety issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated in the relevant national laws and regulations. This standard specifies the method for the determination of the wax content in crude oil and the method for evaluating the quality of the released wax. The standard applies to crude oil with a water content of not more than 0.5% by mass fraction or volume fraction. Crude oil with a mass fraction or volume fraction of water content greater than 0.5% should be dehydrated.
