Scope
This part of GB/T 15597 specifies the molded sample method and test performance method of PMMA materials under specified conditions. All properties listed in this section and involved in GB/T 15597.1-2009 should be determined by the methods in this section. No specific performance values are listed here. Those properties required for the nomenclature of PMMA molding and extrusion materials are given in GB/T 15597.1-2009. Other performances are measured with reference to the relevant methods in this section. The values determined by the methods listed in this section are not necessarily the same as the performance values of samples obtained with different dimensions and/or sample preparation techniques. Because they are also affected by pigments and other additives. The property values for plastic parts depend on the molding compound, shape, test method and anisotropy of the substance. The latter also depends on the gate and molding conditions, such as temperature, pressure or injection rate. Any subsequent processing, such as conditioning or annealing, should also be considered. The thermal history and internal stress of the specimen strongly affect the thermomechanical properties and resistance to environmental stress cracking. However, the influence on the electrical properties is minimal; the electrical properties mainly depend on the chemical composition of the molding compound.
