Scope

This part specifies the procedures for the safety risk assessment of electrical equipment, and also gives information on the implementation of the risk assessment, describing the procedures for identifying hazards, estimating and evaluating risks, comparing risks and necessary risk reduction. This part is applicable to all kinds of electrical equipment with AC voltage of 1000V and below and DC voltage of 1500V and below, and puts forward the general principles for the safety of these equipment when conducting safety risk assessment. This part collects the knowledge and experience of electrical equipment design, manufacture, installation, use, maintenance, accidents and injuries, analyzes the possible damage of electrical equipment risks to people and property, evaluates the risks of electrical equipment in each stage of life cycle, and puts forward Basic measures to reduce risk. This standard is intended to provide guidance on the safety decision-making of electrical equipment, as well as the formation of various documents to prove that a risk assessment has been carried out. If all the hazards listed in Part 2 of this standard are resolved by adopting the corresponding international standards and national standards for professional product safety, it can be considered that the necessary risks to meet the requirements of this part are reduced, and the product is safe. For internally generated electrical equipment with a voltage higher than AC 1000V and DC 1500V, if the generated voltage is not accessible, the electrical equipment also falls within the scope of application of this Part. This section does not apply to the risk assessment of the use of electrical equipment, nor does it specify the information on the use of electrical equipment.
