Scope: This standard specifies the radiographic inspection method and quality assessment classification of metal pipeline fusion welded circular butt joints. This standard is applicable to circular butt joints of metal pipes and pipes with a wall thickness of (2-175) mm. Butt-welded pipe fittings (tees, elbows), welded pipes (longitudinal seams, spiral seams) welded joints can also be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to butt joints welded by mechanical methods such as friction welding and flash welding.
