This standard specifies the methods for the determination of trace amounts of antimony in polyester resins used in food containers and packaging materials and their molded products - graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry and peacock spectrophotometry. This standard applies to the determination of antimony in thermoplastic polyester resin and its molded products. It can also be used for the determination of antimony in enamel tableware and containers. The detection limit of the second method malachite green spectrophotometry in this standard is 0.02μg/Ml.
