Scope

This part specifies the requirements, minimum performance and type tests for small power generating sets for land and marine (civil, recreational and industrial) applications driven by reciprocating internal combustion engines. Except for aviation generator sets. This standard applies primarily to generating sets of a voltage not exceeding 500 V, single-phase or multi-phase, alternating or direct current, driven by reciprocating internal combustion engines. Such generator sets should be produced as standard and can be selected from product samples or advertisements. In this section, "low power" means power below about 10 kW. Note: It is not possible to specify the limits of small power accurately. The low-power generating sets applicable to this part have the following characteristics: ——Users are usually non-professionals (see 3.1 for details); ——The entire generating set is usually transportable or mobile; ——The power output is connected by plug and socket (Except for extra-low voltage, see 6.6.3); ——The user can use it without any additional installation. Generating sets for special purposes or with relatively high power having the above-mentioned characteristics may also be tested according to this part on the premise of approval by the user and the manufacturer. In some occasions, if it is necessary to supplement the relevant requirements, the provisions of this part can be used as the basis. In addition to the definitions and requirements applicable in GB/T 2820.1~2820.6, this part also specifies the specific requirements for testing and safety design. In addition, in order not to cause harm to users, this part also specifies the relevant security requirements.
