This part of GB/T 2820 specifies the terminology, design and performance of the unit operated by the combination of a reciprocating internal combustion (RIC) engine and an alternating current (ac) generator. This standard applies to land and marine alternating current (ac) generator sets driven by reciprocating internal combustion (RIC) engines. It does not apply to generator sets for aviation or for driving land vehicles and locomotives.
