Scope: This standard specifies the basic rules and requirements for general-purpose vacuum contactors (hereinafter referred to as contactors), including: terms and definitions, characteristics, normal operating and installation conditions, test methods and rules for verifying characteristics and performance requirements, markings, Transportation and storage, etc. This standard applies to contactors with AC 5OHz (or 6OHz) and rated working voltage 6kV and below. Contactors can be used to connect and break circuits, and can be combined with appropriate thermal relays or electronic protectors to form electromagnetic starters. They are especially suitable for forming explosion-proof electromagnetic starters.
