Scope
This part of GB/T 15970 includes procedures for the design, preparation and use of uniaxially loaded tensile test specimens for the study of the susceptibility of metals to stress corrosion. The term "metal" used in this part of GB/T 15970 includes alloys. Tensile specimens are suitable for testing a wide variety of product forms, including plates, rods, wires, sheets, and tubes, as well as components joined by welding, riveting, or other means, and slotted specimens ( see 5.1.3). Applying constant load, constant strain or increasing load and increasing strain equipment can quantitatively apply stress to uniaxially loaded tensile specimens.
