GB/T 12688.8-1998 Styrene for industrial use--Determination of content of inhibitor (p-tert-butylcatechol)--Spectrophotometric method (English Version)
This standard specifies the method for the determination of p-tert-butylcatechol (TBC) content in styrene for industrial use. This standard is applicable to the determination of TBC content in industrial styrene, and its application range is 0 ~ 100mg/kg. Any other compound that can form color with sodium hydroxide alcohol solution in styrene will interfere with the determination. However, if the compound and its concentration in the sample are known, it may be possible to compensate by adding this compound when preparing the standard solution. CAUTION: Styrene monomer is flammable. Exothermic polymerization will occur in contact with peroxides, mineral acids and aluminum trichloride, etc. High concentrations of liquid styrene and its vapors are irritating to the eyes and respiratory system.
