Scope: This standard specifies the determination of the purity and impurities of styrene for industrial use by capillary gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of samples with styrene purity in the range of 99% to 100%. It can also be applied to the determination of impurities normally present in styrene. Although this method can also be applied to styrene samples of lower purity, it may be difficult to characterize all impurities and select a suitable internal standard.
