This document specifies a gas chromatographic method for the determination of the purity and impurity content of acrylonitrile for industrial use. These impurities include acetaldehyde, acetone, acrolein, benzene, methacrylonitrile, acetonitrile, azole, propionitrile, cis-butenenitrile and trans-butenenitrile, and the like. This document is applicable to the determination of acrylonitrile samples with a purity of not less than 99% (mass fraction). Condition 1 in Table 1 is suitable for the determination of impurities and acrylonitrile purity with a content of not less than 10.0 mg/kg. Condition 2 is suitable for Determination of impurities (except methacrylonitrile) with a content of 2.0 mg/kg to 10.0 mg/kg.
