Scope
This standard specifies the personnel requirements, film requirements, defect classification, grade evaluation and evaluation records for radiographic inspection of aluminum alloy castings (hereinafter referred to as castings). This standard is applicable to the classification of defects in radiographic inspection of aluminum alloy castings with a transillumination thickness not greater than 50 mm. This standard does not apply to aluminum alloy die castings. This standard does not apply to the classification of defects such as cracks, undercasting, eccentricity, cold shuts and surface irregularities.
