This International Standard specifies a method for determining the conventional volumetric mass ("liter weight in air") of animal and vegetable fats and oils (hereinafter referred to as fats) with the aim of converting volume to mass or mass to volume. The procedure only applies to fats in the liquid state. The temperature when determining the fat should be chosen so that no crystals settle in the fat at this temperature.
