Scope
This International Standard specifies a method for determining the content of free -, -, - and tocopherols and tocotrienols (hereinafter collectively referred to as tocols) in animal and vegetable fats and oils (hereinafter referred to as fats) by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). liquid chromatography). For products containing esters of tocopherols or tocotrienols, it is necessary to carry out preliminary saponification. Milk and milk products (or fat from milk and milk products) are excluded from the scope of this International Standard. NOTE A suitable cold saponification procedure is described in Annex B for information purposes only.
