- Scope
- This standard specifies the basic methods and technical requirements for regular inspection and evaluation of in-use steel welded gas cylinders (hereinafter referred to as "gas cylinders"). This standard is applicable to welded steel gas cylinders with a nominal working pressure not greater than 10 MPa (gauge pressure) and a nominal volume of 1 L to 1 000 L, which are used to hold compressed gas, low-pressure liquefied gas or mixed gas and can be refilled. Periodic inspection and assessment. This standard does not apply to gas cylinders with internal packing, gas cylinders for fire extinguishing and liquefied petroleum gas cylinders designed and manufactured according to GB 5842.
